Hello :)
As I am sure many of you have heard, our campus went through a terrible tragedy on March 2nd when a bus accident carrying our baseball time killed 5 students. Let me first say that we greatly appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers - this campus has felt the tremendous support that has been shown for us and for that we are forever grateful. It has not been an easy road, but Bluffton is on its way to recovering and we, as a student body along with faculty and staff, have banded together to get through this hard time. I am so thankful for the way Bluffton's community can pull together and be there for one another...I am honored to be a part of this campus. We went on Spring Break the day of the accident, so everyone went home and processed everything alone, then we came back on Sunday to be with friends and begin the greiving process. We had a memorial for those who lost their lives on Monday night and from then have continued to process all of the emotions. Being on such a small campus, we all knew the men on that bus in one way or another and this tragedy has hit this campus hard, however we all know that together we will get through this and live in a way that will honor those who are no longer with us.
Through good times and bad, the people of Bluffton come together. There is no way I could have gotten through this without the love and support of my friends. Since we have been back from Spring Break we have gotten together and laughed and cried. This past weekend was so awesome because I was able to just relax and have fun again. Me and my friends went to one of our friends houses and had a St.Patrick's Day dress-up competition (it was like we were 7 again!) and had a blast. It was one of those moments where we all felt the love and support that we had for each other and knew we would never had to do anything along - what an absolute blessing. I have included a picture from our crazy St.Patrick's Day fun :).
Until next time,
Mary :)
